David's Dedication

On Sunday, January 18 we were surrounded by family, blood related and not, as we dedicated David to our God. It is our desire to raise him to love his Savior, know the Truth, and be a man after God's heart.
Cousin Bailey and her Uncle Bill!

Yes, I'm wearing slippers!

Of course the Cardinal/Eagle game was on! GO AZ!

He's under there, promise!

Thank you for celebrating with me!
Thank you to those who celebrated with us: Grandma and Dandad; Grandma and Papa, Uncle Conrad and Aunt Donna, Uncle Chuck and Aunt Nicole, Grandma Pat, Uncle Casey, Aunt Bess and Bailey. We have family out of town who couldn't be with us and we thank you for praying with all of us as we raise David and praying for him that he would make our God his God.

Grandma and Dandad are in the house!

Well...currently they are not in the house, they are taking David for a walk!

Here are the boys...
Dandad helped David stay warm after his bath
Grandma Joy just loves having David close
Just hangin' with my Dandad
I love my Grandma!
And my Grandma loves me!

We are having a BLAST hanging out with my parents! They are loving David's new-found voice and funny faces. But best of all, they are just loving on our little guy!

Uncle Ron and Aunt Gayle

A few weeks ago we drove out to Franktown (south and a little east of Denver) to see Bill's mom's cousin Ron and his wife Gayle.  Technically, I guess they'd be our cousins and David's, but aunt and uncle is more fun!

David loved playing with the xylophone!  We may need to get one!

Uncle Ron and Aunt Gayle use this car to take their grandkids to the park, the store, and other fun places.  David had fun borrowing it for his trip around the living room!

Ron and Gayle's son Ryan and his wife Amy will be visiting this weekend, so we will head out there again on Saturday afternoon.  After, of course, we make a trip to the airport to pick up:

GRANDMA AND DANDAD!

Yep, my parents are coming into town tomorrow!  We've been counting down the months, weeks, days and now hours!  We are very excited and I know they are too!  Dandad will be here until Wednesday (his birthday!) and Grandma will stay until Saturday!

YEAH!!

Good Morning!

I went in to get David this morning and this is what I found...

He doesn't move when he's laying on the floor playing, but his bed is his playground!

New Years - Take two - Fun in the house

Although outside was his favorite, he managed to have fun in the cabin as well!

Yes, he was supposed to be asleep!
He's sleeping on a big ottoman next to our bed!  It's great having a kid who doesn't roll or move in his sleep!

I guess he's done eating!

We played Mexican Train Dominoes a few nights.
Happy New Year!

New Years - Take one - Fun in the snow

I was going to try to do only one post from the cabin, but there's just too much to share!

We celebrated New Years at the cabin with Chuck, Nicole, Pat, Bill's parents, his sister Alice, our family of 3, and Keena!  We had a wonderful time and are so thankful to the Hartogs for including us in their cabin fun all these years!

David LOVED being outside in the snow!  The cold didn't bother him at all.  He'd get grumpy inside and all we'd have to do was take him out and he was a happy camper!
Keena was so gentle with David.  He wasn't sure about her at first, but then loved having his hand licked by her!
It was BEAUTIFUL out most days and quite warm in the sun.  David had a blast outside in his control station.
This is not how David traveled up to the cabin from the bottom the driveway...
This is!
The Hartogs have a trailer that attaches the back of one of the snow mobiles.  They use this trailer to transport all of our clothing, gear and food from the bottom of the driveway (sometimes from the entrance to their sub division-about 2 miles, but this year the road was plowed so we drove up the base of the driveway) to the cabin door.  David loved looking around and feeling the wind on him!

Bill, David and I went on a walk one day.  David doesn't remember much of it!
It was BEAUTIFUL!

Hanging with Uncle Chuck!
Standing in the snow (with some help)
Keeping warm with daddy!

We bought both of his snow outfits at the thrift store a few months after he was born.  Because he was so small at birth, we were afraid he wouldn't be big enough to wear them this year.  That was definitely not the case!  The red one was almost too small and the Bronco one will hopefully make it through this winter!

A bitter-sweet goodbye

One week ago today we had to say goodbye to Alice.  She flew back to Poland after spending 2 wonderful months with her friends and family.  She was able to connect with a lot people and tell about all the WONDERFUL things God is doing in Poland. (for more info on her ministry in Poland, check out her blog-the link is to the right!) It was great to have her here for so long.  We are praying she is able to come home next Christmas for a few weeks.

We were sad to see her leave, but we know that her heart is in love with the youth of Poland and she was anxious to get back to the students and families she has invested in.

She met David for the first time and was able to spend a lot of time with him.  Her are some photos of their last day together.

I love you, Auntie Alice!  ~Love, David

Rubber Ducky

It might be time to deflate the duck for good and get into the bath tub!
