Jill and Matt's Wedding

Last weekend in Redwood City was Matt Bigelow and Jill Farmer's wedding.  It was a BEAUTIFUL day and so much fun to see old friends from the Bay Area AND from Lake Arrowhead!

Eddie Passmore and Phil Payne:  Eddie was my youth pastor in jr. high and Phil was my youth pastor in high school.  They walked Jill down the aisle as her dad (our pastor in Lake Arrowhead) passed away about a year and a half ago.  Eddie and his wife, Maggie, are now missionaries in Tijuana, Mexico.  Phil and his wife, Elizabeth, are now missionaries in Quito, Ecuador.  Of their 4 kids, 1 just graduated from college and is getting married in August, 2 are in college and their 4th is in Quito with them for his senior year of high school!  They are all in the states this summer.

Papa Lee and Kim:  They are an AWESOME couple who are still at the church in Lake Arrowhead.  Such great friends, even though we only see each other every so often!  They were a huge help with David at the wedding.  They got us food and helped with him so I could breath!

Momma Carol (Farmer):  Beautiful mother of the bride!

Brad and Stacie Ciraulo (and Natalie):  Sister, brother-in-law and niece of the bride!

This is Railey, Brad and Stacie's oldest.  She came right over to David at the wedding and was 'helping' him walk!  She's such a sweetheart!

Matt and Jill! Gorgeous, gorgeous!

AH...Phil and Elizabeth Payne!  They were AMAZING as youth pastors and it was a JOY to see them again.  They are loving life in Ecuador and are thrilled to be with their family this summer.  During the dinner, Phil took David for a walk to let me eat!  It was just awesome to see him with David. Surreal as I babysat their kids when their youngest was David's age (and younger)!

Such a fun, fun day!  Thanks for letting us share with you, Matt and Jill!

Frustrated Friday!

Weekend in the Bay Area!

David and I just got back from an awesome weekend in the Bay Area celebrating the wedding of a dear friend - Jill Farmer (Bigelow now!).  I was honored to be invited to share with her in her special day.

I'll post wedding pictures later, but for now... here's all the fun we had while staying with the Gaps! Wendy and I were roommates in college in San Luis Obispo and then again a few years later in Redwood City!  She's now married to Tony and they have two ADORABLE little ladies: Isella is 2 and Luisa is almost 4 months.

Their community center has a perfect toddler pool: 6 inches to 1 foot deep!  David loved it!

David was very proud of himself for knocking over the blocks!

Sweet Isella shared all of her toys with David and even let him push her dolls around in her stroller!  She has a smile that lights up her whole face!

Little Luisa is such a trooper!  David was still learning what gentle means so she got poked a few times and would come up smiling and cooing!

For Father's Day, I went with Tony, Wendy, the girls and Wendy's parents and grandma to a park to play for the morning/afternoon.  Here's Wendy with her Isella.  I loved watching Wendy with the girls, especially Isella.  I learned so much watching her interact with an independent toddler!  She is patient and encouraging to her little wonder!

Tony is an GREAT daddy!  Super attentive and loving.  Those girls are blessed to have him!

When we took David's hat off at the park, his hair was standing up a little bit... Tony added to it!

This is Nolan.  His mom, Jodi, and I were roommates in Redwood City (with Wendy and 2 others) for a year and a half.  It was so fun to get together with her, her husband Sean and cute little Nolan!  The boys had fun playing together.  While in the nursery at church, Nolan was sitting on a push toy and David came up and pushed him around the room on it.  Jodi and I were so bummed we didn't have our cameras!
Not sure what's going on here, but it just makes me laugh!

By the end of the week, our David was toast!

So there you have it!  Be looking for wedding pictures later in the week.  We had a blast and were very happy to be home.  David took a 3 hour nap when we got home from the airport and slept 13 1/2 hours that night!  He's still catching up from all of his fun (and late nights!)

A Robbins Family Update

OK...so blogging hasn't been on the top of my list lately!  Really, it hasn't been on the list at all.  But here's an update on all of us and some of our upcoming summer adventures:

Bill:  The school year has been over for about 3 weeks now and we have LOVED having more time together (hence the lack of blogging!).  He's still working with the youth at the church and now has more time to focus on planning and getting lessons ready so the school year isn't as stressful as it was this year.  He's loving being able to put more focus on the Bible studies he wants to do with the students.  Bill, 2 other leaders and about 12 students will be camping this weekend in the mountains.  Just a fun time to hang out!!  More than all of that, though, he's having a GREAT time being Dad!  He and David have bonded so much this summer.  Bill loves going for walks with his little man and showing him off everywhere we go!

Me:  As stated above, I'm loving having our family together more.  This time last year we were learning the ropes with a newborn!  I'm involved in a Bible Study with a few other women at our church.  It is lead by our pastor's wife.  We are going through Philippians,  but are first taking a few weeks to really look at the background of the book and the author, Paul.  It's been great!  I'm also going to a few mom's groups with David, when we can.  It's fun to see him play with other kids.  He and I are headed to San Francisco this weekend for Jill Farmer's wedding!  I'm so excited to celebrate this special day with her and see the rest of the Farmer family and other Bay Area friends.  It's been about 5 years since I've been up there!

David:  Just as fun as ever!  Each stage gets more and more enjoyable as we watch him learn, grow and discover new things!  He loves putting small objects in boxes, bowls and anything he can get his hands on.  We've learned to check our shoes before putting them on!  He has just about mastered the stairs and turns around on his own to go down.  He took a little tumble last week, but survived the ordeal and wanted to climb again!  And his latest feat (or should I say 'feet'):

He's taken his first steps!

He'll walk if something is about 5-6 steps away, otherwise, he gets down and crawls!  It's so fun to watch him walk, or better yet, waddle!!  It's only a matter of time now, we know, until he's running!  (Videos to come!)

BB/S (baby brother/sister):  Everything is just great!  Our little wonder is 12 weeks old!  Oh, and as with David, we aren't going to find out what we are having!  Here's what's going on now:

Our baby, just over 1 1/2 inches long and about the size of a fig, is now almost fully formed. Her hands will soon open and close into fists, tiny tooth buds are beginning to appear under her gums, and some of her bones are beginning to harden.

She's already busy kicking and stretching, and her tiny movements are so effortless they look like water ballet. These movements will become more frequent as her body grows and becomes more developed and functional. You won't feel your baby's acrobatics for another month or two — nor will you notice the hiccupping that may be happening now that her diaphragm is forming.

I have a doctor's appointment on Tuesday.  I started the heparin shots twice a day the day after I found out I was pregnant.  The dosage is finally right, so I go in every 2 weeks to have it tested (as I gain weight, I'll need to increase the dosage).  My belly is pretty bruised, but better than the first few weeks.  I've been in maternity clothes since the beginning because of the bruising.  It's just more comfortable that way.  I've been more sick in the afternoons than in the mornings, which is different than my pregnancy with David.

OUR SUMMER ADVENTURES:
June 19-21:  Bill camping. Donna and David in San Fran!
July 7-9: Bill and Donna (David will be with Grandma and Papa Robbins) are off to Breckenridge, CO (where we honeymooned!) to celebrate 2 years of marriage!
July 13-Aug 1: All of us will be in Arizona and California for almost 3 weeks!  We will fly to AZ, stay for a week then drive to CA for my Granddad's 90th birthday and some fun at the beach, Lake Arrowhead, and with any other So Cal friends and family!  Then we'll head back to AZ for another week and a half or so of swimming and hanging with Dandad, Grandma, Uncle Chris, Auntie Eva, and, of course, cousin Austin (he REALLY misses David!), and any other AZ friends who will be around at that time (let me know and we'll have you over for a swim!)

So there you have it.  I'm sure I'll have tons of pictures to post next week of our trip to CA!

And we'll try to get back on the blogging wagon!!

Congratulations to my Bill!

Bill spent last fall and a bit of winter finishing up his classes for his bachelor's degree.  He walked last month!  It's such a relief to have it out of the way and not hanging over his head!

We're very proud of you, love!

David looking for his daddy's name!

One very, very proud Papa!
