Swimming!

Our community pool opened yesterday so we took David for his first swim!  Last year, he was too little to take.  He wasn't too sure of things at first, but he liked it after a bit. It was an overcast day, so we think he might have been a little cold also!

We found this cute little life vest at the thrift store earlier in the day!  It fits him perfectly.

For David's birthday, Bill and I got him a fun water toy.  His very own jet ski!
We'll be going more this summer, as soon as it heats up!  And yes, the jet ski will come with us to Arizona, Grandma and Dandad!

Birthday Pictures!

I decided to put all the birthday pictures in one post for time's sake.  It's just easier that way!  So sit back and relive a fun, momentous day with us!

Playing on the stairs with Dandad!
Hanging with Aunt Shirley (technically, she's a 1st cousin twice removed!  Diana's cousin!)
I love this kid!

Now for the fun part! Mom and I made David's cake-complete with chocolate frosting and sprinkles!
We decided naked (on top!) was the best way to go!

Anyone want to share?

Yea...naked was a good idea!
ALL DONE!
Bailey helped Bill record a video of David eating his cake (will post that later!)
Playing peek-a-boo with Uncle Chuck!
Playing with the cousins!
Grandma and Dandad!

Uncle Ronnie and Auntie Lily playing with David's third cousin Andrew.
From Grandma and Dandad (Be strong in the Lord)
From Grandma and Papa (I get my muscles from my dad!)
This truck was the hit of the party (thank you Uncle Chuck and Auntie Nicole!).  David drove it back and forth across the living room for almost an hour!  It makes noises (engine starting, horn honking and the bed lifting) and is the perfect size for our almost walker!

We had such a GREAT time!  So thankful for all the friends and family who joined us for this special day.

Fun with Daddy!

We have all passed around a nasty head cold, starting with David and, hopefully, ending with Bill and I!  Last Friday I was really out of it, so Bill stayed home from work and had some one-on-one time with his little man!
They built block towers.  Well, Bill built and David destroyed!
David loves playing in front of the open door.  He found a box that was much more exciting than any of his toys!

He played so hard with Daddy, he fell asleep eating his snack!
A moment of sleepy love with Daddy!
Thankfully, David took a 2 1/2 hour nap so everyone was able to rest a bit!

On the baby front:  We have a little heart beat!  I'm not as far along as the doctors thought, so we have another ultrasound scheduled for the end of May to get a better due date.  We're looking at the end of December sometime!  Happy New Year!

Happy Birthday, David!

David is 1 today!  We can't believe it's been a year since our little man entered this world! Although we're biased, we think he's the cutest little one year old ever!

Here's how far he's come:

Here's a video of his first moments of his first birthday!

I think we're more excited about his birthday than he is!

We are headed over to Bill's parents' house this morning for his birthday party with friends and family.

More pictures and videos to come!

Lunch with Uncle Ronnie and Aunt Gayle

A few Sundays ago (yes, I'm still catching up!) we had a GREAT lunch with 'Uncle' Ronnie and 'Aunt' Gayle.  Ronnie is Diana's (Bill's mom) cousin, but since they grew up more like brother and sister, Bill has always called them aunt and uncle!  They are wonderful and had a great time playing with David and keeping him entertained during lunch!

Please be praying for them as they are both dealing with cancer issues: Ronnie in his leg and Gayle in her lung.  Gayle will be having surgery to remove one of her lungs in a few weeks, just as Ronnie has finished chemo and radiation.

The Denver Zoo

David and I went with some friends from church to the zoo a few weeks back. We had a BLAST! David LOVED the animals and watching all the kids!

Our first stop was the elephants. Once he finally saw the elephants (instead of watching the other kids!), he kept looking at them then back at me and would laugh and laugh!

Right after this picture the peacock started screeching and lifting it's feathers. David wasn't too fond of all that!
Eating lunch...just watch out for the peacocks...they will take your food!

David loved it when the bear stood on 2 feet and scratched his back against the rock!

We had a GREAT time and are looking into getting an annual pass! Daddy wants to come next time!

Wordless Wednesday

Can't wait to see you in July, Granddad!
