6 Months Old!

WOW!  We can't believe in 6 short months we've gone from this:

To This

It's crazy!

We are so in love with our little man, there are no words to describe it!  We go in every night before heading to bed to check on him and kiss him one last time for the day!  We are often mesmerized by his little face and just stare and smile!  Thank you, Father, for this blessing!

David had his 6 month check up on Monday.  He's doing GREAT!  His doctor said he shows NO signs of being early and underweight.  We were thrilled to hear that.  He had to get 4 shots (including the first of 2 flu shots) and then had to have his blood drawn.   Poor guy.  He was a trooper and was just fine when it was all over and he was in his daddy's arms.

A few likes and dislikes:
LOVES:
-Sitting up to play! Now that David can sit by himself, he's not real fond of being on his back or tummy!
-Laughing at mom, dad, grandma, grandpa...anyone who will listen!
-His bath.  As you can see from the previous post!
-Going on walks
-Rice cereal with fruit!
-The color red
HATES:
-Being left alone!
-Putting his jacket on.
-Plain rice cereal.  Who wouldn't!

That's the latest on our little man!

We love him!

Cutest Kid on the Block

David has always enjoyed the bath, but Tuesday night was the best!  He was smiling and laughing, so I got the camera and started shooting away!  It's so fun to see him playing more by splashing and grabbing at toys!

Fall in Colorado

Last Saturday, Bill, David and I took a walk around the lake by our house.  We left our house just before sunset on a beautiful Fall evening.  When we got around the lake, this is what we were greeted with:
I love living in Colorado.  Nights like these are common, and take my breath away every time!

When we got back, we had a little lawn gnome

Happy Birthday, Bill

Yesterday was Bill's birthday!  We celebrated at his parents' house on Sunday with dinner and ice cream cake!  Here are some pictures of the fun day!

David had a hard time taking a nap in a new place, so daddy had the privilege of our little man sleeping in his arms. (so I opened the presents!)

Yesterday, David and I brought lunch to Bill at work and went with Bill to Dan's for the evening.  We had cookies and ice cream to celebrate!

Can I brag on my husband a bit?

What an amazing man I get to call my husband and best friend!  His favorite place to be is at home playing and talking with us.  He works hard all day then goes to the church for more work.  Yet he makes time for us everyday and when he's home, he's here with us.  I love my husband and best friend and thank God daily for the gift he's given me in Bill.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, LOVE!

Auntie Alice

After 2 hours of sleep in 48 hours, a very long flight from Poland, customs at DIA, and a drive through Denver traffic, David finally got to meet his Auntie Alice!

Thanks for stopping by and having dinner with us while so tired and disoriented!

We finally got a recent shot of Grandma Diana and David.  She's always the one with the camera!

More pictures to come of the Robbins family now that we are all together for the next 2 months

WELCOME HOME, AUNTIE ALICE!

Halloween

An evening out and dressed up people didn't go over very well for this tiny Tigger or the sweet strawberry!  So we made it a quick evening at the church and headed home for some fun in the ducky bath!

First Food!

While in Arizona, we decided to try giving David his first taste of food from a spoon.  He was a bit confused, but did really well and is getting better each day.

I often wondered why we were told not to give a baby the cereal in a bottle.  I thought "how can you drink cereal from a bottle?"  Now I understand... If you make it the way the directions on the box indicate, it's WAY runny... it's liquid!

Needless to say, we've made it thicker at home and it has worked much better!

First bite

Going in...
And coming out!
Keepin' it clean!

We've tried giving him a few other foods to try, like Cheerios (thanks for sharing Sally!) and he wasn't interested in them too much.  Last night I gave him a grain of rice from our dinner and he seemed to like it, so I gave him another.  On the third try, I was met with very stiffly closed lips!  I guess he didn't want anymore.  His favorite so far?  Oreo cream!  He's mama's boy...what have I started!

Laura and Sally come to Colorado

Laura and Sally left yesterday and we miss them so much already!  It was a wonderful blessing to have my best friend of 17 years visit with her little lady.  Who would have thought after all these years we'd have our first kids 3 weeks apart?  Only God could have planned this one.

We met Laura and Sally at the airport

Sally LOVED giving David's head and ears and he was enthralled with her shoes!

Little turkeys!

On one of our many walks!  We laughed all week at the difference in their personalities.  Sally is always looking around and talking.  On our walks, she always had at least one leg bobbing up and down, and sometimes both of them and her arms!  If her legs weren't swinging, they were resting on top of the bar in front of her and she have her foot taping up and down!  David, on the other hand, is super mellow!   He'd just lounge in his stroller and take everything in.  He'd grab a hold of the toy attached and not play with it, but hold on for dear life.  He'd fall asleep without us knowing and wake back up without a peep!

The kids took a couple baths together in the ducky bath!  They look like they are wondering why we are all watching!

Laura bought David some shoes to keep his feet warm and his socks on.  Here he is dancing away!

So much fun together.  It's our turn to visit Nashville and we have plans to go in January or February. We can't wait!!

For more pictures and stories, check out Laura and Neil's blog.  The link is on the right side of our blog!

The last of the Arizona pictures!

With Uncle Chris and Auntie Eva

A tub in the tub with Austin
A glimpse of what he'll look like in a few years!  What a cutie!

We were able to spend an hour at the school I used to work at as well.  It was GREAT to see the teachers and students.  The kiddos I had in 1st grade are now in 6th grade and taller than me!  It made me miss that school and the kids and parents I loved so much.

We had a FANTASTIC trip to Arizona.  We can't wait to visit again when it's warmer so David can try out the pool!  It was just a bit too cold this time.

Next up...pictures from Laura and Sally's visit here.  If you're anxious to see them, Laura beat me to it: www.losgowanitos.blogspot.com
