The most dramatic development this week: Reflexes. Our baby's fingers will soon begin to open and close, his toes will curl, his eye muscles will clench, and his mouth will make sucking movements. In fact, if we prod my abdomen, our baby will squirm in response, although I won't be able to feel it (this happened during our last ultasound...check out "B-Rob's first photo op") . His intestines, which have grown so fast that they protrude into the umbilical cord, will start to move into his abdominal cavity about now, and his kidneys will begin excreting urine into his bladder. From crown to rump, our baby-to-be is just over two inches long (about the size of a lime) and weighs half an ounce.
Since my belly is now protruding, we'll take some pictures this weekend and post them!

Wow! To think that the Son of God was ever that small. That He became a baby before He was a man! It is incredible to think of that during this time of year!
Merry Christams!
I'll be home for Christmas. . . next year!
Love you!
Alice
