I was going to try to do only one post from the cabin, but there's just too much to share!
We celebrated New Years at the cabin with Chuck, Nicole, Pat, Bill's parents, his sister Alice, our family of 3, and Keena! We had a wonderful time and are so thankful to the Hartogs for including us in their cabin fun all these years!
David LOVED being outside in the snow! The cold didn't bother him at all. He'd get grumpy inside and all we'd have to do was take him out and he was a happy camper!
Keena was so gentle with David. He wasn't sure about her at first, but then loved having his hand licked by her!It was BEAUTIFUL out most days and quite warm in the sun. David had a blast outside in his control station.
This is not how David traveled up to the cabin from the bottom the driveway...
This is!
The Hartogs have a trailer that attaches the back of one of the snow mobiles. They use this trailer to transport all of our clothing, gear and food from the bottom of the driveway (sometimes from the entrance to their sub division-about 2 miles, but this year the road was plowed so we drove up the base of the driveway) to the cabin door. David loved looking around and feeling the wind on him!
We bought both of his snow outfits at the thrift store a few months after he was born. Because he was so small at birth, we were afraid he wouldn't be big enough to wear them this year. That was definitely not the case! The red one was almost too small and the Bronco one will hopefully make it through this winter!

oh donnie.
sooo soooo cute!
man- your lil guy looks BLISSFUL in the snow!
did you know that the sled ya'll use to haul the gear to the cabin is what the DeVries family had as a CAR in Alaska?
that's almost exactly it.
my dad would drive the snow machine with a kid in front of him and one in back and then my mom and the other two kiddos were in the sled with the gear!
seriously- that was our family car for 15 years!
nuts.
sorry i have been SOOO stinkin lame with the phone.
i am in a big time funk and am trying to snap out of it.
partly feeling yuck with being prego, partly this time of year is hard with it being cold- not wanting to go outside and spring feeling so far away.
sigh.
wanna come over and play?
that sure would brighten up my life! =)
